Elia Transmission Belgium is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage grid from 30 to 400 KV with a length of almost 9000 km. When migrating its (geo)graphical solutions, Elia chose to first migrate the front-end web application without touching the back-end applications. SIGGIS did this with the help of the VertiGIS tools Integrator and Geocortex Essentials (now VertiGIS Studio), resulting in the eGIS application.



This application links through the GIS several other applications including a document management system and asset management in SAP. This was achieved by linking from the GIS to these applications (and vice versa) as well as by integrating windows from external applications into the GIS.
In 2023, Elia also decided to entrust the migration of the back-end applications to SIGGIS, with a full conversion from Microstation to ArcGIS Pro.
