The province of Flemish Brabant manages 1,425 km of unnavigable watercourses of the second category. Its main tasks are maintaining watercourses, providing advice and permits for construction works and responding to emergencies. The province has greatly improved its water management processes using the YODA system, an advanced GIS solution based on ArcGIS and VertiGIS Studio. 

Previously, there were many different systems and manual workflows, leading to inefficiency and inconsistency in data. 
The YODA system solves this thanks to:

• An integrated platform with one user-friendly web application for all users.
• A central database where all data is stored centrally, preventing duplication and inconsistency.
• Automatic generation of specifications and progress reports.
• A mobile app that allows field workers to log their tasks in real-time.
• Improved and smooth communication between field workers and office staff.
